When selecting the brightness of an LED screen for education, users generally consider two options: indoor or outdoor displays.
Indoor LED Displays
Manufacturers typically set indoor LED display brightness between 200 nits and 1000 nits. General waiting areas usually need 500–700 nits for clear visibility. Classrooms, where students view the screen for long periods, require 700–800 nits to maintain comfort and reduce eye strain.
In dimly lit spaces such as school lecture halls, educators can use lower brightness levels to minimize eye fatigue.
Outdoor LED Displays
Outdoor displays require much higher brightness levels, typically ranging from 5000 nits to 10,000 nits, to overcome strong sunlight and ensure visibility.
Large-scale outdoor screens, such as those installed at school entrances, Sports halls, or playgrounds, require such high brightness to remain clear.
